‘Nalukettus’ is a traditional concept of Kerala. Now it has re emerged as an inevitable component of Kerala Tourism. Many resorts are constructed in one way or the other adopting the old style of Nalukettus. Foreigners are much impressed with this concept and therefore the tourism investors are now looking old wine in new bottle.
In Kerala, the most expensive and in- demand (both construction wise and tariff wise) resorts are constructed in this type of traditional style. It starts from Coconut Lagoon in Kumarakom, Surya Samudra in Kovalam, KL resort in Kumarakom, Travancore Heritage in Kovalam, Nikki’s nest in Kovalam, Islo de Cocco in Poovar, Malabar Residency, Fort Heritage in Fort cochin, Aqua serene in Kollam, Somatheeram in Kovalam etc. This traditional touch is typically a business strategy to promote the product in the international market.
But if we check the cost aspect it is on the higher side. Not many investors can afford that!
TICK has now researched and reinvented the traditional product of Kerala in a most unique way, at the same time most economically. |
